Can anyone recommend a good cooling system pressure tester at a resonable price. When I worked in a garage we had a Snap-on. It was great, but I dont want to spend an arm and a leg just to test a tractor every now and then. Thanks

I looked last night and there is a whole pile of them on Ebay. Several brands, all the way from Chinese import to Snap-on. The biggest difference seems to be in the range of adapters. You should find out what the new price is before you bid.

I have a Stant that is older than dirt, only two adapters, but it must have fit almost everything that existed when it was made.

We've had a Stand setup in the shop for over 20 years and never had a problem with any part of it.

That should have been Stant, not Stand. I didn't catch my mistake til I had hit the send button.

Stant!
I"ve had one for 25 years still works good as new.
If you click the link, then scroll about 3/4 of the way down the page. Shows the Stant tester and below that are adapters.

Most of them cost around $100, but they have plastic cap adaptors. I picked mine up at an auction for $50 and it's a Snap-on, very nice. I checked my Snap-On book and my price book is a little old, but it runs about $130. If you use it very much you would really like a good quality one as with the plastic adaptors I think that they may wear out early and when they wear out they don't hold pressure very well--if you were looking for a small leak it may be deceiving. Just my thoughts.

Hey, I just checked out the Stant link and that Stant tester looks pretty good, almost like a Snap-On. Might be something to check out if you can find one.

I use a STANT. I don't know what the current cost is, though.
