Speedaire Model #3Z395 Compressor

I was recently given this compressor (which I believe is approximately 30 years old) and was wondering if a tech manual is available from someplace for it. It runs great but seems low on oil. What weight oil is normally used in it? Any info would be helpful.

I have a 3z395, too. Do you still have the maual they emailed you? They can't seem to find mine in the system. Guess I'm talking to the wrong person.

I have an old Speedaire gasoline powered air compressor. It is a 3Z408 or something like that. I called Grainger and they emailed me a pdf document of the manual and parts diagram/
list with all the parts shown. Actually, I had to call them twice, because the first time I called the lady said that number was so old that it was not in her system, but I called back later and got a different lady who was able to find it and email me the manual and parts list. I was then able to order from them a rebuild kit for the pump which included gaskets, cylinder rings, and reed valves. It runs like new now. As far as the oil, I think the label on mine says use 30wt Nondetergent motor oil in the pump.

Thanks for the reply. I contacted Grainger and they sent me the info. needed. I also found out that the 30W nondetergent was the right oil.

Doing a repair parts search by model number at www.grainger.com turns up nothing for 3Z395 so you need to call or email grainger.

That's a Grainger part number. Go to their web site and click on "Repair Parts". Don't let it run low on oil. Go to a compressor company and get the correct oil for it.
