I have just received the kit hardware from TIP with most specialized pieces I need. The rest is plywood and labor. Wondering if any of you guys with experience building cabinets would have any advice for me. It will be appreciated. Bill

Hi,

Here's a quick and neat idea I got from Dad. Instead of lag screwing big unsightly and unstable 2x4's to the sides for legs, make "angle plywood" legs. Use 2 6x30something inch pieces of plywood, joined along the long side (biscuits work great, but plain old drywall screws will do). I tapered mine from 6 inches at the top to about 3 inches at the bottom. Overlap them about 4 inches or so on the main cabinet (ie make the legs about 4 inches longer than you want the bottom edge of the main cabinet off the ground) and you'll have lots of area to fasten them really well. These don't need any cross bracing and will be REALLY sturdy and stable.

Mike
