I have a model M30 (30,000 Btu) Kerosene ReadyHeater. Until recently it has been working fine. Now the heater will not stay on more than 2 minutes before cutting off. I have replaced the spark plug, filter element, gasket, and rear cap trying to eleminate any possible air leaks and I used an air gauage to verify the air pump is delivering 3 psi (and it was). Durring the minute or so that to heater runs, it seems to run smoothly with a good flame and then suddenly cuts off. I am puzzled at what to do next, I am thinking of replacing the heater Jet (oh and I have already replaced the in-line fuel filter), but none of the parts I have replaced seemed to have been in bad shape and the jet doesn't seem to be in bad shape either. Any ideas????? ???

Thanks

Yep! It's probably the "Fire-Eye" (photocell).
It looks like a rubber cork with two wires coming out the back, the front is where the lens is, and it's probably dirty. It could also be in the ignition "Module" (the part that shuts the whole thing when there's no fire), this happened to me but I hear it's kind of rare...

Hey Guys , where is this photocell? . I have a 70,000 BTU Ready Heater about 13 years old that runs in fits and spurts. I have cleaned, examined, and-or replaced a lot of parts and never saw a photocell, but I've missed things before. One more question. Why does the plastic air pump "swell" up and get hard to turn instead of wearing down and getting loose?

Troubleshoot the photocell. Disconnect the photocell. Jump a wire across the 2 terminals that the phocell connect to (temporarily!!!!). If the heater runs ok, then order a photocell. They are cheap. Do NOT continue to run the heater without the photocell. Its there for your protection.
