I am trying to locate a source for parts and or information for a flywheel alternator on a Wisconsin flywheel alternator. I have a problem with a V4HD. I have a short that drains the battery, and in checking the system it traces back to the alternator. So I figure I have a diode problem. This is where the problem starts, my service manual covers the engine well but doesn"t even mention the alternator at all. So what I need to know is where the diode is located, is it in the stator ring assembly or in the regulator/rectifier. Also does any one know a good source for Wisconsin electrical parts. I have searched all over the internet and find lots of sources for engine parts, but when you try to find the alternator stuff you are just out of luck.

The Wisconsin web site has the pictures and part numbers. The diodes and regulator are two different units. If you have trouble finding the parts I can get them for you. I sell an ATV with the VH4D engine.

Unfortunately the one I am working on the EAN 100 only has one module, the part number is YJ49SI. But now I at least know the diode is located in the module assembly, for me thats a big step forward. Now I understand that single module system is obselete and the later ones have 2 modules. Does any one know if you can convert the old old one module system to the newer two module without having to replace the stator assembly? For that matter my other option is to scrap the flywheel alt. altogether if I could find some kind of belt drive to fit the engine.
