I bought a Hotsy model 610 really cheap.Now I know why.The pump needs a full set of valves and the heating coil has burst in three places from freezing. Can I weld the heating coil [ really dirty ] and is this machine worth spending the money on? Stubin swamp yankee here.

Kind of like a friend giving you a semi load of old car tires. In our area we have many hog houses that get new machines every year or other year. They get a real smack on the head for trade in value--if you can buy it from the farmer.

I personaly would toss it unless you know the extent of repairs in dollars and cents. I can not imagine sticking money into it. Dave NE IA

Sorry ---I typed, then reread the originl post. The word freeze says it all. I could not imagine the pump not being frozen as well. And you sure don't want to go there. Your hoses, nozzle and gun are probably in the same boat. When trying to fit a new coil remember the fittings on the pump are more likley than not stretched also. Dave NE IA

Local blacksmith had a bad coil on his- made a new one by getting the right size pipe, welding down one end to the drum, heat and bend, heat and bend, all the way to the top. If your pump is bad I guess I'd do some pricing before deciding.

I don't know how much it will cost to fix,But those are really good machines. You may be farther ahead to sell it for parts.
