Does anyone have a source of plans to build a good welding table and/or a sandblasting cabinet? I need both, but don't want to pay commercial prices. I have a sandblaster, so maybe could retrofit it to a homemade cabinet. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have six smaller cabnets with different types of abrasive in some. Two were store bought, the others home made. I have no idea what you are going to be using it for but I want a bigger one now and got this idea of using a old pull type combine grain hopper for the main shell. It seems like a cheap way out for something that size. Bottom has a slope and a plywood cover.

However it would not be the first time I was off key. Dave NE IA

For a welding table, call your local steel supplier and ask for "drops", which are left over chunks, or rejected from clients. I asked for,(and got) a 4"X 5" of 5/8" steel plate. Picked up some 2" pipe to weld on for legs, real simple. Later I welded angle iron connecting the legs, laid a piece of plywood in for rod and tool storage.
I wouldn"t go any thinner than 1/2", you want something you can beat on.

Lincoln welding has a table on their website. I built it years ago. If I had it to do over, I would have used a 1/4" top. Otherwise it's a good table.

The TIP products are good and I have a TIP blaster but a blast cabinet gun made by Trinco and use a foot pedal valve. I found a larger blast cabinet military surplus and rebuilt it reasonably. So check the surplus places. Just use a 5 gal. shop vac on mine and it works fine. You can build a suction tube from 1/2" electrical conduit and use the cheap clear hardware store hose for suction side. Call Southwest Abrasives in Dallas for gloves and other parts 800-945-6185.
