As a newcome norwegian farm hand I must say this site is extremely helpful! Thanks to all enthusiasts :)

My farm has a Ford 3000 diesel which reads 45725 on the hour-meter.

There are some problems with the hydraulic 3 point lift, and I have searched this site to find some very good tips, but I have some questions left.

The lift have the following symptoms:
1) After tractor start, using several minutes before starting to lift 3 point very slowly

2) Sometimes does not work at all. Turn of the tractor for a little while, and it might start working again. Might also start to work if I wiggle the 3 point

3) Same problem with and without load on the 3 point

4) Seems to help a little to rev the tractor up high

5) If I pull the hydraulic selector beneath the seat so all pressure goes to the auxiliary hydraulic line (with nothing connected), the system works hard. When I put it back in 3-point position, the 3-point makes a little jump uppwards.

6) Sometimes the 3-point work quite well, though it uses about 15 seconds before it starts to lift if the lever has been completely down for a while. If the lever has been half-way down, it seems to raise earlier.

I have changed all the hydraulic fluid, but do not know if I have bled the pump correctly. On the pump, there is a rather big unbraco bolt. When I unscrew it and turn the engine, loads of oil comes out. I suppose this is the air bleeding screw, so I turned the engine and put the screw back in place while the engine was turning.

I read on this site that one can rinse the whole system running it using diesel instead of hydraulic oil. Can someone verify this method?

Could it be the hydraulic oil filter which is full? I read that it's a big job replacing it. Do I have to repair or replace the whole hydraulic pump? I want tips on what to try next :)

greetings,

Look at the top of the screen ABOVE THE RED BAR. click on the FORD site. You can get help there. Might help if you have the repair manual, too.
