need help. would you do it?
I can get a mid to early 70"s GMC 6500 old electic company truck with 30 ft bucket hd winch and a 18 inch auger. All hydraulics. engine seems to be ok and same with the auto trans.
I do not like ladders and have an acreage where it all will come in handy at some point.
Price is really cheap, is it worth buying something this old? yeah I know we do it with tractors all the time and I am just a little hesitant on this as not real familiar with them.
thanks for any input.

For your own personal use on your own property, the truck should be fine. I get a decent amount of use out of my old 1964 Dodge dump truck, despite never getting it off my place.

Taking a truck like this out on the road or having employees operate the vehicle is a different story. Getting insurance for either type of activity may be difficult or impossible. You had better check with your insurance company first.

You should also consider how you are going to get the truck home. Temporary plates or trip permits or whatever they are called in Iowa may require insurance, which re-visits the second issue above.
