I'm looking for a set of gauges to test hydraulic pressures. I need one soon to test pressures on a hydrostat. It needs to go from 0-10,000 psi. I've asked at a few local parts stores and they can get a gauge, but they can't get a hydraulic hose capable of holding 10,000 psi. I was hoping to get a kit, that way I would have to mix and match fittings and sizes.

http://www.mcmaster.com/ has about any gauge you would need.

Or, OTC, see catalog at link below, page 291, 292, and 297.

I went to the local JD dealer to begin with. They acted like they don't have nor sell a kit. I've also noticed the Tech manual I'm using gives an address to write to to get a set of gauges. Since the manual was made in 1974, I doubt the address would be accurated.

Many years ago I bought a complete test kit through my John Deere dealer. A good assortment of gauges, hoses, adapters and fittings. Worth the money. See the service manager/ shop forman. Ask to see the Service-gard catalog.

Call a few hose companies, you should be able to find one that can make one up. 10K is a fairly common application, usually with 1/4" or 3/8" NPT threads. They may go into a discourse of the safety ratios (5000 working, burst of minimum 3-4x that). Where I work we only SELL 10,000 PSI working/20K burst (lawyers & liabilites issues, stay away!), but in the shop we often TEST with the lower rated ones to 10K for short durations.
Lubrication (grease guns) generally are 7000 PSI max. working.

I don't know if this will help, but I think hoses for grease guns are rated for 10,000 PSI. They are 1/8 inch pipe threads.
