thanks Charles for the infomation but thats not what im looking for. this thing is made for axle bearings like the ford truck axle that has that press on lock ring to hold the bearing on.you hang the adaptor or what ever its called under the bearing and use hydraulic press to push the axle down and away from the lock ring and bearing then turn it over and use it to push the new lock ring and bearing back down on the axle. thanks your help

I have know idea what your looking for but that is what i have always used , now i have not been in the service dept of a ford dealership since the 70's and they may have some special service tool that they use but the bearing spliter should work , as i do not see anything in any of my tool catologes that show anything else.

I'm not sure what else there is either. My original factory manuals, '67, '70, and '84 car, and '81 truck all show a special Ford tool (as all factory manuals do) that is nothing more than a very large bearing separator. They all say to take a drill and drill a hole in the OD of the bearing retainer ring and use a chisel to break it off.
