I have a dumb question, My Freightliner FL70 wheel nuts use M20 flange nuts requiring a 33mm socket. Do you think I could get by with a 1 5/16" socket? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the replies, the 1 5/16" fits over the nut just a little loose, probably will give it a try.

Check your math. 1-5/16 = 33.3375 mm

Converting to decimal, 5/16 = 0.3125, + 1 = 1.3125

1.3125 in x 25.4 mm/in = 33.3375 mm

The 33 mm socket might be a little tight, depending on the tolerance of the nuts, as 1-5/16 is slightly larger than 33 mm. If it'll go over the nuts, shouldn't be any problem with it slipping or rounding off the edges of the nut.

Oops, just re-read your post. 1-5/16 inch will be a little bit loose, but on a nut that size I can't imagine the extra 1/3 of a millimeter making that much difference, particularly if its a 6-point socket. I'd probably go for it unless I could feel a lot of slop.

1 5/16 is 26.987 5 millimeter which is closer to your 27 mm socket

Kraig, 27mm is actually close to 1 1/16, not 1 5/16.
