Standard Pickup Bed - Dump Conversion

My gut tells me they are worthless junk and will destroy the weight capacity of my bed, but it sure would be nice to not shovel for an hour everytime I get some stone.

I have a 2002 F-250 with 8ft bed.

About 2 years ago I broke a weld on the scissors link. When I took it apart to fix that, I replaced the bumper brackets with heavier, fabricated units, straightened and reinforced the brace over the rear cylinder mount, and added grease zerks to the toggle on the scissors link.

I'm still on the original box. Most of the loads have been construction debris and brush, but I have hauled dirt/sand/rocks in it quite a bit too, and abused the heck out of it by overloading it (that's how I broke that weld..)

It's been handier than a pocket on a shirt, and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Regarding the rusting, I contacted EZ Dumper and the company I bought it from, North South Trailer sales in Boonville, NY and they both told me to "stick it!", they were too busy to deal with a warranty claim for repair of the powdercoat. Seeing as how all of the slide in units are essentially the same, my next one will be a different brand.

The city and the state highway department have started using steel slide-in units so they have to be pretty durable.
