Would appreciate if someone could tell me the initial carburator settings for the high and low jets and idle screw for a homelite super XL.

The settings suggested by Teej should get it started.

Then, with the saw warmed up, set the low-speed screw so that it idles smmoothly, and the idle-speed so that the chain just stops running.

Then with the saw cutting under load, set the hi-speed screw for smooth operation (not four-cycling) and maximum power. (Be careful. - This usually requires two people.)

You may have to repeat the procedure a second time to get it just right, because changing each setting has some effect on the other.

For most chainsaws, and 2 cycle engines, 1 to 1-1/4 turns for both. Its always worked for me. 1-1/2 turns for 4 cycle lawnmower engines.
