Are they as handy for square fasteners as I think they'd be? I see them in the Craftsman catalog in the loose stock section. Anywhere else to buy them? From what I remember Roger Welsch swears by them, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks

Thanks fellas. Went on ebay and bought a set of five new 3/8 drive for 3 1/2 bucks later that day. Now I can't wait to try 'em.

You can use a 12 pt socket of a size larger than the fastener head. Works for all but the tightest (read rusty) ones.
Bet you already own 12 pt sockets :)

Many years ago, I bought all the sizes available from Sears. Then I bought additional sizes from other sources and brands to get as many sizes as possible.

Go for it and buy them. Just used one this evening on a square bolt that was not even close to being accessible with an end wrench.

Very good for those big square head set screws too.

I use them a lot on lag bolts altho most newer ones are hex. Come in real handy for removing square head drain plugs, too!
