Are S-K hand tools still made in the USA since they are with Facom? I've heard Facom is from France?

The reason I asked is I got a new Harbor Freight catalog and it has an S-K 1/2" drive clicker torque wrench listed for $89. I thought that sounded cheap for S-K and thought maybe they were made somewhere else now. Thanks for the input. Think I'll go ahead and buy one now.

Thats bout what I paid fer my SK torque wrench 4 or 5 years ago. Seems all my torquein tools took a dump bout the same time so I got newins. The next time I will git the flex head ones well worth the difference. We have a SK tool truck that stops here every Friday its the only one I have ever seen. I have sum SK tools I brought over 30 years ago and they kin compete with enny brand. SK izz as good a tool as money kin buy. Their ratchets are the best their izz, off the tool truck their prices run along the line of Snap-on and Mac so its the service I pay for.

S-K has a factory in Defiance Ohio. I went past there 2 weeks ago and there were still cars in the parking lot. Not as many cars in the lot as there were years ago but it was also lunch time.

Williams wrenches and sockets are still around. I had never heard of them. I work at the shipyard here in MS and the hurricane ruined most of our tools. The shipyard replaced our tools for us and most are Williams. I got a Williams socket set, crescent wrench, and set of wrenches and ball pin hammer. Most are good tools with the exception of the cheesy wratchet. To me it's just hard to beat Craftsman.

S-K tools are just as good as the Truck Tools and lots cheaper, Proto from what I remember was the "professional" variant. I have some old S-K wrenches marked S-K Wayne and they do everything they can to spite my oldest son who can break Snap-Ons fixing his BMX bike. Most are american made with the hand drivers being made in France or Germany. Not as pretty as Snap-On tools but when covered in grease after a hard days work who really cares? They clean up just as well and you still have money left over to celebrate.

Anyone know what ever happened to "Williams" wrenches and sockets?

Brandon, the lower end of Proto was Par-X. Had a close friend that was the distributor here for Proto for years. Use to get some really good deal on tools....

The vast majority of SK tools are US made. Their green rectangular handled screwdrivers and some of their hose clamp pliers are made in France. SK up until recently was owned by the French tool company FACOM. SK is now US owned. FACOM will be distributed in the US by Stanley Tools. Lets hope Stanley doesn't screw up FACOM like they did MAC. SK tools are good stuff at a fraction of the tool truck price IF you shop around.

FACOM Tools are great, just a little hard to find.
