Used one many times growin up Ford Farming,to lift the rear, and reverse the wheels for cultivating.Never had the pads as it was done on a slab poured alongside the barn for such jobs and parking machinery on.Wouldn't take much, just a foot square plate or such under each corner to keep it from cutting in.Unless tractor is weight/fluid loaded heavily I seriously doubt you'd have any any problem on packed ground or good sod.Couple of points here.
*The tractor(Ford N-800/Fergies)is lifted/held by it's own 3pt hydraulics. If your hydraulic system is weak or leaks down quickly you're gonna have problems.
*Let common sense prevail, these jacks are nominal for lifting the tractor, but NOT overbuilt or equipped w/idiot proofing so lock up the kids/dogs etc and NEVER EVER get or reach underneath the tractor without additional jackstands/cribbing in place!
*Heaviest lift I've done was a Jubilee w/loader frame, fluid ballast, and full hvy pie weights..lifting rears only was a challenge and "creak&groan"time for the jack until let down on oak blocks.
*Carefully inspect any used/old jack before use,as again...they were NOT overengineered, just strong "enough".Any cracks or heavy rust could be both you and your tractors downfall.
Sorry to rant, but these jacks are kinda like a buzzsaw, handy but Deadly without due care.

I have seen several of the lifts but never any support pads. I would like to see drawings or pictures also.

If you are talking about the unit that uses the two point lift arms, on an 8N type, to raise the front and rear wheels off the ground, I think one inch thick wood scraps could act as pads.

Thanks, for info. I have a lot of wood I could use but looking for original factory for engineering. Was also thinking about a metal rod the size of the jack tube I.D. that could be pined, attached to a--maybe foot square piece of 5/16" plate, or so for the back and a 3-4 foot piece of plate with maybe 2--- 1/2" x 1/4" bars welded, to form a channel that the front piece bottom would fit into.???
