A friend took me to a Miller welder sales and supply center Thursday. The people there were really help full. Went in with no real idea of what I had other then the name "MILLER MAXTRON" and model number 450. They put me thru to a Miller tech service rep. gave him what info I had. He came back with numbers, That shows it to be in the Multiprocess class.He also explained how to wire, how to reset phase, how to hook up leads, what switches to flip, what the knobs were for, what I can add to it. And what to value it at for trade and Insurance. Now all I need is electric ran to my pole barn to carry it. If you ever need help with a Miller welder, you can call 1-800-558-3517 and they will take care of you! Also found out I almost sold it to cheap!

I watched as a few buzzards on here were about to take you for a ride. You can bet that everyone of them KNEW you were way low on the price.
Honesty has not gone out of style, it is just harder to find these days.
Show me a good old boy that brags about being a good old boy, I will likely be able to show you a crook in hiding.
Have fun with your welder, and you can always sell it for much more than you thiught.

I don't know if your calling me dishonest, but the man did state his price, $1000.00 or an antique tractor. I offered a John Deere G and a John Deere A. I guess I can part these out and make enough to buy 2 new Millers with full warranties though.

By the way I did respond and informed you I had no intrest in JD'S. And that I had a friend who deals in junk JD's. And if he was interested we might work some thing out. Thats when you dropped the ball. But all worked out for the best, you have your Deers, safe and secure in your shop, and I have the piece of mind that the welder is good.Ready for the person to use. And its not a who stuck who with the bad apple game! Thanks again !!! Have a Happy NEW YEAR and good luck on parting your JD's

Steve Lets tell the whole story!!! The G is in pieces, and the A has a major problem. Also you offered one or the other! And I had no way to haul. As Stated I am not a JD GREEN person. I have the right to pick and choose correct?? And for every one information I have the welder in a Miller Weld center getting it serviced right now and ready for a person that traded with me. And I am paying the bill. MY intenisons are to give the buyer a good welder! I don't have Junk and won't put junk on any one! Thank You! But then again thanks for letting me know how you feel.

I revisited the original posts from the 15th of December. I would understand from my reply that yes I did offer one or the other of the tractors. But as everyone has stated this was only an offer, which of course was not responded to, so I walked away. I did like most people do, I did some research to see what the welder was worth, at which time I received the advice I got. So no further pursuit was made. As far as the value of the tractors I have, they are worth considerably more as parts than as the sum as the whole. As I learned over on another board, The head for the G alone could easily sell for $700.00 especially having been rebuilt.
The A does have a sleeve problem that will need fixed, and the repair parts go with the tractor. but again this was not mis-represented as an expo quality unit. So before anyone calls anyone a "buzzard" (yes I got a couple e-mails so I know the story and the players) I would like to apologize for having taken interest in the first place.
P.S. You didn't mention you were going to have the welder serviced prior to the sale, in the original post.

No not really. Actually a grand for a welder notably one with all sorts of circuit boards inside that is 9 years old (bought in 97' right?) and has sat unused since, is quite risky. I talked with Dan who owns a welder, plasma cutter etc. repair business and services my welders, and he advised me to back away. He reminded me of a minor board repair done to my old Econotig (340 bucks) and if that welder hasn't been fired up since 97', it will likely fire up literally the first time it's used, unless completely reconditioned first. I'm still big on warranties for electronic type gizmos unless I can buy it right or swap something I have that I've lost interest in.

I am with you, I could possibly lose interest in a partial G that is in pieces or an A with major issues.
Never make a deal that you would not take in reverse, or else, you either a dealer making money or you are a potential buzzard looking for folks that just do not know any better. It is commonly also known as preditor.
