Onan cylinder head

Hi guys, I've got a '72 JD 70 skidsteer with a onan 24-25hp opposed twin, Its the first onan I've ever had. I'm ready to reinstall the head and need the torque specs if anyone has them. Has anyone ever seen the head nuts back off the studs and blow a head gasket on one of these motors? Also where is the model and serial number located on these? Would appreciate any feedback on this engine if anyone knows more about them then I do...LOL Thanks again.

I would hate to even venture to guess without the engine model number. Onan usually put it on the cooling shrouds. Either on the shroud over the flywheel or on one of the Cyl head shrouds. If you haven't already try looking there. If you can find the model no or someone weighs in with that info I should be able to help you out.

If the tag is gone go ask your local Mother Deere dealer. They should have a service manual that you can look at and get the info there.
