I need a good impact wrench for tractor lugs and other farm equipment. I heard about aircat and their specs seem to be too good for the money. Anybody had any experience with this brand? Would you buy again? Tks.

I have an Aircat 1601 3/4 inch drive. I bought it on ebay for a little over $200. It is advertised at 1330 ft.lbs. It seems well built, feels good in the hand, runs quieter than most, and does get out bolts that would not budge with my 1/2 inch impacts. I would buy another from them.

I'm not sure about the torque specs on impact wrenches in general. This applies to all the manufacturers -- it feels to me like the same sort of "peak horsepower" race that the portable air compressor manufacturers have indulged in.

I'll second that. I've got a 3/4 drive Aircat I bought on E-Bay. Runs real quiet and seems to have plenty of power and easy to adjust.

I also have a Central Pnuematic 1/2" drive "earthquake" impact wrench I bought new from Harbor Freight. I must say I am somewhat disappointed with it. Although it does have excellent power, it is really hard to switch from forward to reverse even after oiling the switch. The power adjustment lever is also not very user friendly. Also, the plastic cover is coming off after just a few uses. I see Ingersol Rand offers a similar style impact wrench. I wonder if its any better or just the same thing for more money?
