Hey Joe, I read an old post of yours; you said you "started" with a plywood blasting cabinet from TIP Tools. I am considering that approach. How did it work for you? Why did you move on to the factory made unit? Thanks, Bill

I had been doing outdoor blasting w/siphon blaster for couple of yrs, boat trailers, misc projects etc.On large items it was OK,but for smaller stuff it was pricey due to loss of sand, time of setup etc.Decided that a cabinet was in order, but couldn't afford/didn't want to spend the $$ so went with the TIP"homebuilt" plans to start with.System worked fine with a couple of minor shortcomings(ie:too small compressor and learnin that wood in cabinet blasts away with time. When I upgraded compressor and such, later on,I went ahead and bought the TIP metal cabinet set up.Been happy with it since. If I were to build another cabinet,I would line the back and sides of the chamber with sheet metal(tin)to protect it better. You can't beat a good cabinet for small items and "no sand accumulates in those cracks and crevices you didn't know you even had till you started sandblasting".Also the cabinet(in the shop with AC),beats coveralls/hood/respirator gloves etc at 80-90 degrees in the blazing sun.
