Got a question that is off topic but does anyone know a good way to get this $#*^& plastic snow fence to stay up without ripping. I only had two sections of the wood stuff and needed more so I bought some of that plastic stuff and it keeps ripping at the poles.

we run a small 3/16 cable the lenght of the run drawn tight then use cable ties, alot of them, and it holds good. trick is to get it as tight as possible, if it can whip at all, it will rip

We put up a couple hundred feet every year, we trap the mesh against the post with a lath, but also weave a heavy wire along the top of the fence and draw it good and tight. (The wire is helpful setting the posts sort of in line!!) We have never had it break and the mesh is at least 5 years old. We connect roll-to-roll weaving a lath through.

Eastern MN, so there isn't wind like say No. Dakota.. but it is still winter.

The best luck I ever had with the plastic junk was to trap the fence between a lath and the fence post. Even at that, the wind will eventually cut it off against the fence post.

I have not used the stuff but someone earlier said it's important to keep the fence on the side of the posts toward the wind so the wind blows the fence against the posts. This helps to keep it from tearing where it's tied.
