Got an old snow thrower here. Needs belts and I'm not sure what length. Any handy tricks in measuring/guessing on what length of v-belt to put on?

It's a Lambert Model HS 541

Thanks,

Buzz

This is just a little on the simple side. If you can just load it up and take it to town. They can fit you up a LOT quicker. Jeffcat

I assume the old belts are missing, so you can't take them along for the "bearings and drives" place to measure?

If you can find an old belt of the correct width, but a little longer, what I have done is to trim a section out of the old, longer, belt until it is the correct length, and then taken that to the belt place to have them match a new belt to it.

That will get you within at least one size of the correct belt.
