I bought a "Sperry Snap 6" wiggy at a yard sale yesterday. It has an ohm meter function that doesn't work, so I took it apart to replace the battery, and I can't find it in either half of the unit. Is it some kind of micro watch battery? I don't even see a place to put one ! Of course there was no manual with the unit..... Thanks in advance, Dale

What I asume that what you have is a Sperry clamp on ampmeter slash vom. Wiggy is a whole different animal.
You have to get the lead which has the battery holder which connects in series with your positive lead, not sure about Sperry but Amprobe uses a hole on the side of the unit to plug into when using the Ohms function.
you should be able to get it from just about any supply house.

Jim ,yes it has an amp clamp and a standard VOM type meter. what is the voltage of the battery ? I could make my own test lead if I knew the battery voltage. Also, what is a "Wiggy" ? I'd heard amprobes called that before, and the guy I bought it from used the term for this one. Is it the type with the colored scale and an indicater/plunger that runs parralel to the scale ?

All you need is a 1.5 volt AA battery.
What we refer to as a wiggy around here is any voltage tester that uses a coil with a plunger.

Wiggie is short for Wiggington tester which is a low impedence solenoid type tester manufactured by Square D.
