i work for a coop and we throw away the plastic seed sacks. they come with a pallet on the bottom and 4 straps on top for lifting with a forklift. they have an 8" discharge in the bottom, and once opened that is it. hard to stop the flow. a used gravity wagon and 5 gallon buckets will be your best bet.

Have you considered multi ply corrigated cardboard? You would have to place it inside a building.

Are you thinking of the seed totes for handling soybean & corn seed in bulk? That are about 40 bu if I remember right, early on were canvas bags, now they like the plastic hard totes better.

All I can think of?

Look for an older gravity wagon and tarp it or go to a elevator that has a feed mill and have them bage it for you 1000 lb would only be 40 50lb bags .
