How do you determine if 6" ID, flexible duct is restricted in some way. These air ducts run from trunk line to register in each room. Located in crawl space. All heat loss items considered. (windows, recessed lights, vent fan ect)
Thanks in advance for advise.

Sorry Led, your going to have to restate the question as to what your question is.

Are you loosing heat from the main trunk line to the register vent in each room?

Are you loosing air volume from the main trunk line to each register?

Are you asking if a 6" round duct will supply enough air for a given room size?

It's just not clear as to what your asking.

Sorry, Reduction in air volume. I live in the country with windbreak planted before the house was built in 1977. I insulated the heck out of this house, have 95% efficent furnace. The North & West rooms are not the coldest rooms. ?

Hi Led,

We just don't have enough info to go very far. This could be;

An extremely dirty air filter
A fan motor not running full speed
Combustion burner not running at 100%
HP unit that has a refrigeration problem or undersized unit
Electric elements not fully coming on.
To plugged duct work.

You'll need to call out a technician to tell which way to go as we could guess all day and never find the problem here.

YMMV....Prior owner of my current house was a full fledged DIY'er. When he installed the heat vents, he ran 2 lines out the very end of the main trunk. Long story short...I moved the 2 lines to the side of the trunk, covered the main trunk end holes and improved my overall air flow.
HTH....don t. ....

I think I know what you're saying. Sometimes you just have to play around with the vents / dampers in each room. It especially depends where your thermostat is located. In my house, the room where the thermostat is located has the vents nearly closed, while the vents in the outer rooms are wide open (and still cold)
