Thinking of buying a used truck for work . Found 1 but the interior is not in the best of shape. The seats have been recovered its the rest thats in bad shape like broken door handle , broken parking brake handle, an the dash an control panel is in rough shape. What I'm asking here is have any of you ever replaced this stuff like from a wrecked car or something an was it costly?

The questions I have is how old is the truck and what do you want out of it? If it is less than ten years old, I'd say the truck has been totally abused. You don't break things like door handles and parking brake handles in normal use. If the cab interior is that bad, I wonder what the inside of the engine looks like.

A lot of that depends on the brand/year of the truck. Also weather you go with used or after market parts. My self I only run old trucks and I work them hard but I also keep my eyes open for trucks in and around the same years for parts.

Dunno the answer to yer question BUT I have werked on 5 IZZ-ZOO-ZOO diesels this month early 80's that have been drugg outa the junk yard. i never liked'em BUT they git 40 MPG and gitin to like'em, would like to have one now to use fer tractor hunt'in. SOOO iffin ya don't mind werk'in on a junker then gofer'it at least ya will save one from be'in ground up fer saugage. All the Izz-zoo-zoo�s had a bent drive shaft from were the fork lift loader had picked�em up to move�em around so drive shafts are git�in hard to find.

All denends on what you are fixing up and the mood of guy in bone yard that day , but if it's cheap enough you would be money ahead fixing one up .
