What"s a yard of ready mix going for these days? I have a 40 yard job coming up and wondering if I can even afford it! I"m in south Texas.

A friend of mine poured a garage floor with only fiberglass and no rebar, except in front of the doors. It was in late October a few years ago. It cracked the worst i've ever seen. Always use rebar to prevent the floor from cracking. Located in central Iowa.

I suspect he didn't have calcium added. I poured some with rebar in october and it cracked badly too. Lack of proper cure before frost, calcium would have prevented that.

I just had 17 yards poured here to finish the floor in my shop on Thursday--1% calcium added, fiberglass added, hot water added(it was 30 degrees that day) and it came out to $87 per yd delivered 20 miles. I was hesitant to have it poured with it being so cold, but the guys doing it for me assured me that the temps were nothing to worry about and the temps have warmed up here in the last few days(I"m in southern Iowa). They also assured me that no rebar was needed with the fiberglass added except at the door--I hope they"re right....

it all depends on what mix you want 6,8,10 bag. fiberglass, freezing yet need calcium that ups the price. expect 100-115 per yard within 20 miles in northern il. i work for a construction company currently do some side work, (until next friday day after thanksgiving laying off). profits were so slim from this year cause fuel , they pit went one union crew one non union (im in the non union) they figured fuel 1 month 1 truck cost 9500 bucks paying somone 25 bucks an hour to drive the truck its not cheap anymore y any means.

I think it around 100/yd, if they will even sell to you... So much cement is going to China, the pre-mix plants are favoring long-term customers. To add fuel to the fire, the big Concrete Co. here was just bought by Cemex... Mexican outfit...
