In this world of foreign trade; Is it still possible to buy a roll around hydraulic jack... MADE IN THE USA? I have even been to Sears which seemed to have the highest prices in the industry, & low & behold even they are made in China!!! I dont much appreciate dealing with Communist since there ultimate goal in life is eventually blowing away our country, & taking our freedom!

What is the deal with floor jacks anyway? I've got a fifteen year old Hein Warner (spelling!) floor jack that started bypassing when the load comes on it. So I figure I'll just get a "kit" put in it and it'll be good as new. Well the kit costs nearly as much as a new chinese replacement, more if I get the kit "professionally" installed. I'm probably better off just getting a new jack from Costco or wherever, ditching the old one. Apparently tools and equipment are becoming disposable items in the 21st century.

Yes, American made jacks are still available, but at a premium. They are U.S. jack, Milwaukee Hydraulic Products, Weaver Jack, and one or two models of OTC jacks (mixed feelings about the 1727). Lincoln boxed all their machinery & sent it to China, now that the jack division is owned by a Taiwan company the units are made in the USA (go figure). If you bought a Chinese Lincoln you can buy a replacement US unit that;s a straight changeout, but be prepared $$$$ wise.

Sometimes I think, we are stupid folks. We are complaining about the chinese stuff, that tears down our good US Brands. But what�s the reason? Is the computer we are sitting at made in US? What�s about our TV�s and Radios? We often have bought stuff by the price, so we have bought the cheapest. Maybe thats the reason, that there�s is no good US stuff�left?

If you found one made in the US you'd have to mortgage your kids to buy it. So you'd probably go home with one "Made in China".

My understanding is that there are NO MORE American made floor jacks, not even Lincoln, or the other name brands.

However, I stumbled on to this web page that claims that the OTC jack is the last true American made jack, so I might be wrong.

I have a NAPA 3 ton jack, Chinese made but is large and works well, no complaints. I have a Sears floorjack made by Blackhawk about 35 years ago, it leaks down and has been overhauled, still leaks some.

I know what you are sayin. just a week ago I went looking for a shop hoist. Price for possible USA product, probably a China RAM and other import parts assembled in US was over $450. China unit that looked 90% same specs was $135. Darn it, I could not justify for home use. I just wish some of these shops could get away from the China imports and compete somehow. Our local farm supply store in most all China stuff.

Hey mace, what size/tonnage hoist are you looking for and what pick height do you need? I've got seven name brand (American made?) Harrington falls ranging from 1&1/2 to 5 tons with 10' to 40' pick heights. I've been planning to put them on ebay but haven't taken the time. All are used but still in like new condition. Asking $275 for the 5's, $175 for the 3's, $125 for the 2's and $100 for the 1&1/2 and $275 for the 2 ton, 40 footer. If your interested let me know. [email protected] Wayne

I would need an arch to do a chain fall. I agree that is great setup. Maybe someday. Thanks for post. I have not done much sellin on Ebay but my son seems to think it is good way to go. We have some tool outlets around here that do consignment sales, not sure what they charge.
