I have hot water heat in my home oil fired with a wood boiler hooked into the system also.
There is a small electrical pump that circulates the water.
Here is my question----Looking for a small quiet generator to just run that pump when the power goes off as it has here in Michigan for the past 4 days.
Have a 5000 watt with a Honda motor but it is too loud.
Really like the Honda motor but looking for something smallelr and quieter.
Thanks for any info.

Honda makes an 2000 watt "inverter" generator that only runs as fast as needed to run what's pluged into it. It will make 2000 watts for 30 mins, or 1600 watts continous.

"If" your pump doesn't need more power than that, this may work perfectly for you...

I have one and it's very quiet and does a great job. Also, it doesn't burn much fuel.

How much watts does it take. How about a 12 volt to 110 volt converter if it doesn't take too much. Most of us have an extra battery or two around, and you could all ways jumper it to a car. Power up the generator now and then for lights and charge the battery.
