meat grinder clean up

anyone have a easy way to clean up grinding plates, i have tried air compressor,pressure washer,boiling them is the best i have found..

Easiest thing to do is clean them with cold water as soon as you're done then hit them with hot water. Dry them and oil lightly with vege. oil. Put them in plastic & store them in the freezer. When your ready to grind again, start with a little meat you can throw away.
As for plates & knives that are already caked or corroded, grind a few pound & toss the meat.

Something to try. With a siphon blaster use some baking soda and do a gentle blast job. Many grinders hae a zink or tin finish on the parts. Real good ones are stainless. The commertial stuff I work on they just throw out the first meat. Try the soda first. It is very easy on the finish and is food safe. jeffcat
