Any one had any experience with the sand blaster attachments that work on a pressure washer? How good or how bad are they? how do you keep it from rusting? see Northern tool has them for about $80.00. Should be less dust flying? Looking for opinions pro & con!!****lgd

I bought the one you're looking at, and was pleased with it, after you learn the tricks. Keep the pressure wand short. Don't use the extension they give you. Elevate your sandbag on a barrel so it doesn't have to draw sand up , only horizontaly. And use # 30 sand on metal, and keep it dry !! My p.w. is about 8 hp. smaller ones may not create enough vacuum to draw up the sand properly. Oh also sand blast sand will kill a lawn. (Don't ask how I know this )

Bought one for $50 I would give it to you, but it is not worth the shipping cost.

The wet blaster from Northern is about $50. It works ok, no dust. One thing that must be done and that is to keep the supply of sand dry or it will not suck up the supply line. Also the nozzel will wearout quick and they cost $12 apiece. Mac

Hi Gene, Recheck that price as I just bought one with my new PW for $30 from Northern, without PW $40.
Sorry I haven't used either one so can't tell you anything.

Gene -
I have a buddy who has one you couldn't pay me to haul off. It does a poor job and seems to me most of the engine's work is done pumping the wet mix.

This rig is sensitive to mixture (need exact measurements).

My opinion - don't mess with them.

Bought one at Wal-Mart about 2 years ago for about $15.00 Just attached to handle of pressure hose dumped dry sand into a 5 gal. bucket, stuck sand pick-up in sand and started taking the paint off the sheet metal on my sons tractor. Worked good, high pressure took the paint off and the water kept the metal from warping. Several drawbacks, parts must be dried right away or they will rust and do it someplace that you don't mind sand. Used mine in front of large door to garage and was tracking sand into shop for months. The next day it looks like a beach where you blasted. Anyway, mine works good, we have a John Deere to blast next.
