Getrag 360 leaking

I removed the transmission from my backup truck and installed it in my duty truck (from a 90 4x4 to a 91 4x4) because the duty truck was slipping out of gear. The old transmission works just fine.

However, there is an oil leak from the front of the transmission right at the bell housing when sitting still before it was ever driven.

It doesnt seem like it could be the front seal because the oil level, even with overfill, isnt that high in the transmission.

What else could it be? It didnt leak when in the old truck.

It could very well be the input seal. From moving the trans around,or putting the input shaft in a bind while installing it could have very well stretched the seal.

MSM,

Thanks for the tip. However, it was not the input seal. I thought it couldnt be since the tranny leaked before being driven even though the oil level, even with overfill, is well below that seal.

It was a damaged plug / seal over the front of the cluster gear shaft. All fixed, no leaks, very happy.
