Does anyone know where I can purchase a 5/8-18 LH thread die? I need it to re-thread a shaft on my bench grinder.

You can buy a thread file at a tool store that has 8 different pitches on one tool, there are very handy.

try a triangle file. as big as a 5/8 thread is you should have plenty of room and the file doesnt care which way the threads go. good luck, davids

That would be extremely difficult= but the original question was in regard to cleaning up an existing damaged thread. Big thread, small file- will work to make it useable again.
