what is the thickness of leather that is used for car/truck seats? anyone know that info?

0.9 to 1.1 mm thick and is generally made from compound leather.

According to Tandy Leather, Upholstery leather is 4 to 5 oz. About the thickness of a quarter coin. More info is available on their site under Q&A.

Dang, if a cow had a hide that thin one little nick and all the milk would run out on the ground. Probably have some hamburgers falling out too.

Well Jay, the leather on the seat of my 97 Ford is about the same as hens skin.
