Sears compressor ID and question

Where the valve screws into the manifold (hope these are the correct terms) the threads appear to be straight not pipe, is this normal? If so, how do I keep the joint from leaking air?

Doesn't get used much nowdays, I ocassionally run it just to keep it running, always leave the tank with 100 psi in it, they last better that way.

The model #106.153782, it is on the Sears parts site but I didn't see any reference to maker.

The old CH Sears I have seen have a straight finned head not the radial. Not a big deal just wondering.

Thanks for the info. I did some intense looking this afternoon and found an exploaded view on Sears Parts .com they call for a gasket under the check valve. This makes sense to me as the threads sure seem straight or standard and do not begin to tighten up at all as the check valve is screwed in.

The pump runs fine, just interested in terms of parts in case i need to rebuild it at some point. An old boy on another site said Quincy made those pumps for Sears that far back (1970's)
