I have a subaru ( diesel) generator model number SDG2200S, I"m haveing to run it at twice the normal RPM"S to get 120 volts, sixty cycles , can anyone tell me what could cause this? Also would like to get a tech manual on this Gen>

Hi Ronnie,

Without more info, either you have a 2pole generator on a 1800rpm engine or you have a 4pole generator that has two poles wired wrong or missing 2 poles.

What brand of diesel engine allows you to safely double the RPM? two stroke?

I don't understand. If it is a 120V 60H generator then there is only one speed that will deliver 60H, any other speed will be more or less Hertz, the voltage is controled by a regulaator.
