What make model do you use, plastic, diecast, brass body on the pump? I am looking to buy something to do this for a weekend mechanic. Are you happy with the way yours works?

thanks
jack

Mityvac[jcwhitney]30 bucks, all plastic, didnt break yet.I also made a pressure fluid feeder that uses a half-gallon ace hardware sprayer.Of course the instructions on the sprayer warn against any unauthorized modifications but it works good. The plans were somewhere on the internet probably at a motorcycle site. This keeps the master cylinder full when sucking fluid through the system. The plan just tells you to pull the sprayer hose and add the size line you need. The cap for the master cyl. I had to machine from aluminum.I think I google searched bleeding brakes and found the plan.I store the brake fluid in the sprayer but probably should return it to a tighter container when not in use.

I have done some with a hand pump vacume tester,it has an adapter to use for brakes which is just a container for the fluid to go into so it doesn't get into the pump. I still have better luck with old way of someone inside pushing the pedal, crack the bleeder then shut it before pedal bottoms out then pump up and repeat.

One method involves no pumping. Ive had two plastic hand pumps fail, after very little use. Mayonaise jar with two tubes (long and short inside the jar) secured through the lid.
Attach the short inside tube to a vacuum source such as intake manifold or AC vac pump. Need length of tubing or hose to reah the rear brakes, if you don"t have a separate pump. Some of those hand vac pumps don"t work very well or for very long. The chrome one that looks like the old Stant rad/cap pressure tester used with a mayo jar with modified lid works very well for me.
