Have a chance to get an Emglo compressor. Never heard it run. Tag on it says made in 1972. Would the tank be OK if water was not drained from it on occasion? I have the feeling it say little maintenance. It is good size floor vertical tank with 220V motor. Thanks

Thanks for the advise. I wasn't able to get it but it sure would have been nice. They will throw it in a junk pile for scrap but they won't sell it or give it away. A real shame.

if i was you id jump on the chance to get that compressor. the emglo compressors were built right to begin with and you stand a really good shot at gettin a quality machine. it amazes me a little how widely spread these compressors have become thinking that they all started out in johnstown pennyslvania. too bad the company has since closed its doors

As with anythng used it is buyer be ware. Emglo units are very well built and can be rebuilt by a good back yarder. As far as I remember the verticals are all ASME type tanks and I wouldn't worry about rust. The metal was pretty good stuff. Change the air filters and oil. The filters are from Nappa for about $7.00 each. They fit a brigs engine. The oil is 30wt Non only. Fill the pump to the bottom of the fill plug NOT to the top of the hole! I have a couple and just LOVE them. Jeffcat
