Parts for REX Wheeler pipe threader, 6790

I have a nice REX power pipe threader model 6790, 1/2" thru 4" that I would like to find parts for. The hand wheel on the left that tightens like a chuck to provide a steady rest for the pipe while its turning is broken. Its cast aluminum and looks like pie pieces now. The welder is afraid it will be too warped when he gets done. Boy that thing sure snapped when it tipped over. It still works good and I'd like to sell it. I have all the dies and enough of the thread inserts to do all the pipe and bolt threads (probably 75 lbs of them).

Perhaps if you cleaned the parts with alcohol and used epoxy for glue you could save the old hand wheel.

That co is still in business. I am not familiar with it or age. however you Might do a search for that company and see if you can find an 800 number to call. Looks to me like you could possibly fabricate a wheel. Perhaps make a round plate that would fit the existing wheel and just bolt it together.

Thanks, The wheel is quite complicated because it turns against a spiral on the machine which in turn closes the three "jaws" against the pipe you are turning. Similar to a quick change chuck on a metal lathe. The only thing I can think of is to cut a round piece sheet metal and drill and tap the aluminum pieces and put short screws in it. Similar to how you would patch an engine block hole.
