I am going to put together a 3 point carrier to use on my buddy's Ford 1910 4wd mostly for hauling out firewood. I've seen a few and have a good idea howto do it but I was curious if theres any tips of what to do or not do. I'm thinking 4 ft wide about 3 ft deep and maybe 4 high. The tractor has a loader so it won't get light in the front.

Go to ebay and search for 'welding projects' books. There are two put out by I think Lincoln electric. They seem to be for vocational schools, probably overstock. They have dozens of farm implement, trailer and other projects with material lists and plans. Some of the sellers may have a list of the projects. I got both Vol 2 & 3 for $18.
Vol 1 is never offered for some reason.

Unless you just want to build the carrier why not use the loader bucket to haul the wood. It'll be much easier..... ..

I can carry half a face cord in the carrier, maybe a wheel barrow load in the loader bucket.

I recently saw one in use in an orchard and would like to fabricate one -- on a smaller scale perhaps for the TO-30. The transport box was just a bit larger than the pull-behind mower carts, more sturdily made, but all metal. In addition it had a dump feature -- essentially pull the pin and dump your load (firewood, manure, whatever). The back was open, as I recall, with maybe only 16" high side walls. Using it on the 3pt hitch allowed it to drop flat for ground level loading, yet still raise high enough to transfer to another vehicle or transport away. He had it on a small JD with loader, too. I liked the dump feature best. Good luck with yours.

What pin was pulled to dump? If it was the top link, the carrier would have to drop to the ground to get the pressure off the pin, and even then it might not be easy to get it out.
Which brings to mind the dump feature on a back scoop.
