I have a good Century AC/DC stick welder and would like to use it as a power source for TIG welding stainless and aluminum. Does anyone out there know if anyone manufactures a tig high frequency ad-on unit that can be used in conjuction with a conventional welder? I realize a regulator, hoses, torch, etc. would also be needed. Thanks!

Hi Spikeman,

You can scratch start Tig for SS welding that's works very well. Just use a air cooled Tig torch on DCEN.

Unless your welding alot of aluminum, Oxy/Acet gas welding works great.

To answer your question, Both Lincoln and Miller build HF add on units. For what they cost tho, it would probably be cheaper to buy a used/new machine for HF welding.

I haven't seen one of those in a while either. Century use to make a add on for those but they are now a part of Lincoln. You might look at lincolnelectric.com
