I recently purchased a 12,000# rated tandem trailer. It needs a brake controller. The trailer is new;(privately manufactured). Is there any difference in controllers? Which one would you recommend? Thanks, Glenn F.

The last time I remember this being discussed it seems like the overwhelming odds were in favor of the Tekonsha Prodigy. There might be something better by now. There is a big difference in brake controllers, please don't put yourself or others at risk by using a cheap one.

Tekonsha. Uhaul sell them labled as Uhaul but actually Tekonsha. If your truck is of faily recent vintage it should have a pigtail in the golve box that plugs into a receptical under the dash and has the wires color coded to matchup with the Tekonsha controler wires. Just need some butt conectors.
