HYD. PUMP QUESTION

I have an old 1977 Ford 900 dump truck that has a front mounted hyd. pump on a 477 gas engine.
The dump bed is--I think-- just a one way cylinder with power up and gravity down.
Was wondering if I could hook up my wood splitter to this front mounted pump.
The truck was equipped with a snow plow at one time.
I have found that a front mounted pump has more power than some internal tractor pumps that I have used.
Thanks for any help.

You certainly should be able to plumb in a double-acting valve to operate the splitter. Just be sure the valve's relief is set at a level that is safe for your pump, AND your splitter.

Be SURE the relief can handle the GPM's of the truck-mounted pump at the max RPM it will ever be run.
