My poulan 306a chainsaw will start and run, but will not idle. How do I fix the problem?

yes, i myself need a muffler to for my 306a. we have two of the saws now, and the one that has the complete muffler, the outer part of the muffler screws into the side of the block.

the other saw has the inner part of the muffler, but the outer part it doesn't!! the outer part of the muffler screws into the inner part unlike the other saw.

if you know anywhere to get some parts, please let me know.

thank you

Hi Tony, It should have a low idle needle adjustment. Some of the cases are marked, low, high, idle, by a screw head and that is the adjustment screw. Try turning up the idle adjustment screw first, then adjust the low needle jet. If that doesn't work change the spark plug then readjust as I described above.
Still problems then it's time to rebuild the carb.
