My compressor tank is rusted out it is a 20 gal. tank. Surplus Center has new ones at 120.00 but they are not ASME certified. Has anyone used one of these tanks? Granger has tanks there price is 225.00 What do most of you do when a tank rust out? The compressor & motor are still in good condation the comp. is a heavy cast iron unit & the motor is a 3 HP 220 Volt. Any thoughts on this . Thanks Don

When the tank went bad on my brothers compressor, he cut the end out of the old tank and bought a portable air tank that would slide inside of the old tank. I don't know he connected the pressure switch and relief valve, but I believe that he can uncouple the portable tank and take it out in the field if needed.

Maybe a propane tank, seen them used that way a lot and a 20 gal. one is cheap.

You can probably beat the Grainger price by shopping around Do not use a tank without the ASME stamp could be a potential bomb
