RUBBER BOOTS FOR CARS

I need the rubber boots that go on the rack and pinion of a 2000 dodge dakato. Can*t get them from dodge unless you buy the complete rack and pinion. I need the one that goes over the tie rod end. Can you give me some web sites or any advice. Hope I explained this good enough for you. thank you for your time Dennis

Try Rock Auto. Have had real good luck buying from them. They are a distributor for many manufactures. Good prices. They drop ship everything from their source so your not paying for them to stock parts.

I bought some from I beleive J C Whitney that where two piece and glued together. Had the Escort for 5 yeras and checked to see if they came apart every time I changed oil but never did. Lot better than using one piece as you have to take everything apart. good Luck

Strange they wont sell or order those boots. I would check with autozone, napa, federated or any auto store. I feel sure those can be obtained individually. Do a google search for rack and pinion rubber boots and I am sure you will find some source. Seems a lot of places anymore dont want to repair anything, just install new. More $ for them.

Check with a "hot rod" or perfomance shop. They have lots of dress up goodies, from shock covers to special lighting. I've found the rubber boots for tractor tie rods which were cheaper and better quality than the local auto supply. Next time you're in the supermarket, browse thru some of the ads in the hot rod mags like "Car Craft"
