Can anyone tell me what is in a junk catalitic converter that makes it have some value? I have seen 2 signs lately of people wanting to buy catalitic converters from junk cars. I don't have any to sell, I am just curious. Pete

Pete - Catalytic converters contain trace (but economically salvagable...) quantities of platinum. Also rhodium and/or palladium. Hence the demand for used converters.
