Need Air Compressor info

My air compressor is about 15 years old. It's a 110v, 5 hp DeVilbiss. In the last couple of months it's gotten hard to start. It runs fine when I first throw the switch but the longer I use it, the harder it gets to start until it finally trips the breaker. Does it sound like a motor winding breaking down due to heat or possibly a start capacitor failing? The motor bearings "feel" OK, I change the compressor oil several times a year, the last time being 3 weeks ago. Anyone got any ideas where to start troubleshooting?
This could be my excuse to get a 220v stationary compressor, but I'd rather not spend the money until I have to! Thanks for any info!

sounds like the motor is tired :) could attempt to rebuild the motor... but not worth it IMO. Try to find a good used 220V motor and adapt on there, not too hard usually, it will give you just as many years of good service !
