Locking fuel oil cap

Hi all- wondering if any of you have any thoughts on how to secure a locking home heating oil fuel tank filler cap. I got a hunting �shack� in the woods and Im thinking of adding a locking cap � the kind you can get from General filter for example. It appears they screw on and they you add your own lock. Is there a way to secure it once it is screwed on? It would seem that to defeat it you just unscrew it..I know that seems like a lot of work and you need a pipe wrench etc but im just trying to cover my bases so the oil stays put if you know what I mean. A tack weld would seem pretty risky?? Loctite??? Any thoughts? Much appreciated. dave

Clean the threads and use some type locktite. I dont remember off hand which one it is, but some of that locktite sets up and it had to be heated real good to unscrew it. Might even figure how to put a lock screw into the sides of the threads, then saw the head off. But if someone wants it that bad, they will cut the lock anyhow. Or loose the outlet line. Locksd are to keep the honest people out.

The red Locktite has to be heated to about 400 degrees to loosen it according to their instructions.

use blue locktite, i used a 4 foot pipe wrench to snap off a hitch ball locktited on.
